Come In and Meet the Mayor – A New Community Engagement Initiative.

As your Mayor, one of my greatest priorities is finding new ways to connect with our residents, businesses, and the many community groups that make our great City of Whittlesea such a special place to live and work.

That is why I am proud to launch a brand new initiative: “Come In and Meet the Mayor.”

This program is something unique. On selected days, I will be rolling up my sleeves and volunteering with our local charities, not for profits, and businesses. While I am there, community members will be able to come in, chat with me directly one on one about Council matters, and at the same time show support for the wonderful businesses and organisations that give so much back to our city.

This new engagement Initiative is about bringing Council closer to the community in a very practical way listening, whilst volunteering my time and working side by side with the people and groups who make a real difference.

The very first Come In and Meet the Mayor event will be held at:

* The Salvation Army Store, 336 McDonald’s Road, South Morang.

* On Friday 3 October 2026.

* From 11:00 AM.

I look forward to meeting with you throughout the day, listening to your ideas and concerns, and sharing in the great work happening right here in our municipality. While you are there, you can shop around this fantastic facility and support the very important work of the Salvation Army.

I am excited to begin this journey with you, and I hope to see many of you on the 3rd October at the Salvation Army Store as we take this first step in making local government even more accessible and connected to the people it serves.
