In July, Council endorsed the Draft Community Plan 2025–2029 and the Draft Community Action Plan for community consultation. This important process has now commenced, with a series of community pop ups being held at 15 locations across our great City of Whittlesea.

Yesterday, I had the tremendous privilege of joining our dedicated Council staff at the Westfield Plenty Valley Shopping Centre pop up. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet with residents, hear your views, and discuss both the Draft Community Plan and Draft Community Action Plan.

As Mayor, I personally spoke with more than 15 community members on a wide variety of issues, including your thoughts on the draft plans. I am pleased to report that every resident I spoke with confirmed that Council is on the right track with the direction we have set. A very big thank you to George and his outstanding team of Council staff, who engaged so professionally and warmly with our community. Your efforts ensure that local voices are being heard and valued in shaping the future of our city.

I look forward to joining future community engagement pop ups and continuing these important conversations. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected, and vibrant City of Whittlesea.
