Representing Whittlesea and Gratitude to McArthur Recruitment for presentation of a Magnificent Gift Box.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of representing the City of Whittlesea as Mayor at the 2025 National General Assembly (NGA) of Local Government in Canberra, Australia’s largest annual gathering of local government leaders. (You can refer to my earlier post for more about the conference and my work there.)

While attending the NGA, I took the time to personally visit and speak with every exhibitor at the local government expo, including McArthur Recruitment, one of Australia’s specialist recruitment and HR consulting firms. McArthur is widely recognised for its tailored recruitment solutions across the public and private sectors, and I learnt a lot from speaking with them.

Last Thursday, I was delighted to learn that my business card had been drawn from among the many who engaged with McArthur during the conference, and I had been selected as the recipient of a beautifully presented Bockers & Pony gift box. This generous gift was formally presented to me last Friday by Fiona Bain, General Manager,  Executive Search at McArthur.

I was truly honoured to receive this token of appreciation. As a gesture of goodwill and in the spirit of community, I will be donating the gift box to one of the many outstanding charities that support vulnerable and at risk residents in our great City of Whittlesea.

My sincere thanks to McArthur Recruitment and to Fiona Bain for this kind gesture and for the important role McArthur plays in supporting leadership, workforce excellence, and service delivery across local government.
