As Mayor of our great City of Whittlesea, I had the honour of attending the Northern Business Achievement Awards (NBAA) this morning at the Novotel Melbourne, joined by my colleague Cr Cox.

Hosted this month by Darebin and Hume City Councils, the NBAA brought together an incredible mix of business leaders, community champions, and local government representatives. Together, we celebrated the resilience, innovation, and growth that continue to shape Melbourne’s north into one of the most dynamic and forward looking regions in Victoria. Some highlights included:

A thought provoking keynote by Kosmos Samaras and Tony Barry of Red Bridge Group, providing sharp insights into the 2025 Federal Election and what we can expect as we look toward the 2026 State Election.

The inspiring journeys of the Young Business Achievers, whose passion and creativity are driving the future of our region.

Celebrating outstanding nominees, including A Blanck Canvas, Your Community Health, Huracan Fabrication, and Animal Land, all making remarkable contributions to their industries and communities.

The NBAA breakfasts are much more than networking opportunities they are a powerful showcase of the innovation, talent, and enterprise spirit that define Melbourne’s north. They remind us why our region is such a great place to live, work, and invest.

Congratulations to all nominees and award recipients. A special thank you to NORTH Link for continuing to champion collaboration, create opportunities, and strengthen the business landscape across the north.
