Yesterday, I had the great privilege of attending the City of Whittlesea’s Retail and Hospitality Business Breakfast in my capacity as Mayor, alongside Councillor Cox and Councillor Stow.

This outstanding event brought together a broad cross section of retail and hospitality business owners and operators from across the municipality and was a powerful demonstration of our city’s commitment to supporting and strengthening our local business community.

The morning included discussions on current challenges and emerging opportunities within the retail and hospitality sectors, a presentation on effective business marketing strategies, and a detailed analysis of our local business landscape, underpinned by valuable data and insights.

Special thanks to the guest speakers Craig from the City of Whittlesea, Ailsa Page and Rebecca Stobbe, who delivered engaging and informative presentations that captured the attention of all attendees and provided practical knowledge that will no doubt benefit our local businesses proprietors in attendance.

I extend my sincere gratitude to the City of Whittlesea Council officers who worked hard to organise and attend this event and to all volunteers, contributors and caterers who helped make the morning a great success.

It was a pleasure to personally meet and engage with many of the attendees and hear their stories, aspirations, and the challenges they face. Our small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I am proud that the City of Whittlesea remains steadfast in its commitment to helping local businesses grow, innovate, and thrive.
