In June this year, I had the privilege of walking through Norris Bank Reserve in Bundoora alongside members of our local community. As Mayor of the City of Whittlesea, I listened carefully as residents shared their concerns about rising crime and the urgent need for stronger crime prevention measures in our public spaces.

Community safety is one of the most important issues facing our city and your voices have been heard. Today, the Deputy Mayor and I joined our specialist Council officers at Norris Bank Reserve and accompanied them as they conducted an investigation, where a number of opportunities were identified for consideration of plan for the park. To the residents who walked with me back in June, thank you for your honesty, your time, and your commitment to your neighbourhood. Your concerns guided today’s work and today, we acted. A sincere thank you to the Deputy Mayor and all the Council staff who supported this important initiative you did an outstanding job.

As your Councillor, I remain committed to delivering real, proactive crime prevention initiatives across our great city. Together, we can build a safer, stronger, and more resilient City of Whittlesea for all. June this
